Translucent color coating of stainless steel

I am a metal artist and I want to color stainless steel with something translucent. I just don't know what to use can you help?

Hi, Luke. There are many candy color translucent paints available. The issue is that it's very difficult to get adhesion to stainless steel without a good etching primer, and these are gray paint rather than stainless. If adhesion is not a major issue, you can try lightly sanding, then immediately painting. If adhesion is a concern, you are probably limited to a PVD process, available only in limited colors like gold.
