Passivating SS430/436 w/ citric acid

Hi, I'd like to passivate some SS430/436 using citric acid . I'll follow ASTM 967 and the 4-10% citric acid guidelines. The tank itself is built of SS316. The 316 will be fine right? I don't want the tank itself falling apart.

I have some aluminum parts that I'll probably have to get replaced as well.

Normally a 316 tank will stand up. If the welds were not with a "L" rod, or the welder used far too much heat, they might fail somewhere down the line.
I would consider using a vinyl liner. There are some good ones out there and the price is less than a leaking tank.
