Where to get Support Springs for 1926 Antique Brass Bed

Q. Years ago, my husband was given his grandparents brass bed which they purchased new back in 1926, it is fully intact with the mesh box spring and usable. We are searching for 8 support springs that connect on to the box spring and metal frame. Two springs on each corner. We have purchased numerous sizes of qauge springs and are unable to find the right gauge.

They are approximately 4.5" in length from end of hooks and approximately 11/16 in diameter. Possibly a 10 gauge? These springs are very tight, unfortunately the hooks are breaking, and we want to continue to use this bed for one of our guest rooms, and be able to pass it down to our own children one day. Does anyone know where we can find the springs for this?

A. Oddly enough this is one problem that can probably be best solved by a blacksmith...........

These are the guys you need to get in touch with, they can make you some new springs that will probably last a good long while.

Shoot em an email and they probably will be pretty responsive.

A. These clowns probably already make a spring that will work. I got some weird off beat springs from them a while back. They were quick and the price was OK.
