Is "Sterling" still used to mark silver?
My husband says that silver is no longer marked with the word "sterling" and hasn't been since the 1950's. Is this correct? Thanks.

First of two simultaneous responses --
It can not be stamped sterling unless it is. Several 3rd world countries supply silver and it is cheaper for them to cut the amount of silver with a cheaper metal and still have it look OK. Sterling is still a recognized item, but it is getting harder to find.

Second of two simultaneous responses --
Sterling is still being used as well as Silver, Sterling Silver, Solid Silver, Ster., and .925 and all these terms mean the item is at least 925/1000ths pure silver.
