Looking for a way to plate thin gold layer on a tungsten tip

Hello

I am AL, a student in a SPM Lab in Seoul, Korea.

I need a very sharp tip made of gold but it's hard to fabricate. So I decided to choose the tip as Tungsten and plate a gold layer on that. While I was looking for a way how to plate thin gold layer, I found out here.
Could you let me know which plating or flashing mechanism is effective for my project.

Thank you.

Hi, Park. It is very hard to plate on tungsten because it is a refractory metal. Please see ASM Metals Handbook, Vol. 5 for prep cycles. If you just need the component, as opposed to needing to fabricate the component yourself, please know that local plating jobshops can do the plating for you.
