Powdercoat issue: dead spots and dotted lines

August 3, 2009

Dear Sirs,

I have a headache over a powdercoat issue.Currently,we made a part for which is weld a 1.2 mm thick CRS "U"-channel over a 3 mm thick 1"X2" HRS tubing. Our powdercoat equipment is Kcoating for which imported from Swiss. We powdercoated the parts and found there are dead spots, between tubing and CRS.It looks like have a dotted lines on the corner.

David you do not state that you clean the weld joint... maybe this is the cause of the defect. Try linishing the joint prior to PC.
