ROUGHNESS IN HARD CHROME PLATING

WHEN I PLATING ON IN SIDE OF SLEEVES ROUGHNESS APPEARS.
BUT ON HULL CELL PANEL TEST THERE IS NO ROUGHNESS.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? I AM USING NEW SOLUTION OF HEEF 25 OF ATOTECH.

Check that you are within the plating parameters from the vendor's operations sheet.
The part may be too rough to plate properly.
Your anode may be too close to the part.
My guess is that your temperature is too low.
Send more information and someone may be able to help you. With what you supplied, all we can do is guess.

Get your HEEF vendor involved. If you are doing business with a reseller with no tech services, contact the company that is listed on the package or the spec sheet.

The bore is 112 sq inches based on your dimensions. I would make my anode about 1/2 inch from the top and about 1/4 inch from the bottom of the bore so that I do not get excessive plate on the lip corners. Your temp is fine. I assume that the parts are mounted vertically. With this set up, I would try a rack of parts at 4 amps/sq in. If your power supply is too small, put a few less parts on the rack.
I assume that you are using lead for the anode. I strongly prefer lead mesh as it plates faster, has a larger anode area and the gas percolates much better. It is also far easier to tweak so that you get the plating where you want it.
What is your trivalent level? Have you checked for the amount of iron and copper contamination?

Hi, Aftab. You should be able to get a complete data sheet for your HEEF 25 chrome plating process from Atotech. Good luck.
