How to change the color of anodized aluminum
Hi,
I have a HTPC that has golded anodized aluminum pieces, but the pieces do not match the whole scheme of my entertainment center. I wanted to know how I could change the color ( to a silvery color) of the pieces without painting. All I could come up with was electroless plating of nickel or silver. Are there adhesion issues with these films on aluminum oxide, and if I went with an electroless coat of silver what is the best way to prevent tarnishing. The other Idea I thought of was evaporating a metal onto the parts, specifically nichrome or silver. If I did this do I need an adhesion layer between the alumina and the metal finishing layer.
