Need chemicals for reclaiming gold from jewelry

June 29, 2009

I have received a lot of broken jewelry like bracelets, necklaces, etc.
This was a purchase that I made from a local auction.
I think that I have about 11/2 lbs I think
This is all gold.
Please let me know what to do and an idea of what I am looking at.
My power supply is a full wave w/18 volt out 30 amp. Hopefully I hear from you
Thank you

Hi, Kenneth. I strongly doubt that it is gold unless you paid thousands of dollars for it, in which case it's worth taking to a jeweler or two, and one of those gold-buying services that are on every street corner these days to find out what you can sell it for. I would find out what each piece is made of and sort it, rather than treating it as a salad, which will impede your recovery efforts. Good luck.
