Can I really make my own chemicals myself?
June 16, 2009
Hi everyone, the name is Olivier from Osaka Japan.
I am quite new around and find this web site a real gold mine of informations.
Now my question is can I make my own chemicals for brush plating purpose?
I heard for instance it is possible to make:
Electroclean= caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on
Amazon [affil link]
50 grammes+1 liter of water
chrome stripper= caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on
Amazon [affil link]
100 grammes+1 liter of water
nickel activator=10 ml of hydrochloric acid+1 liter of water
What do you think? would that work?
Thanks very much for your answer

Yes you can make your own chemicals-but things are not so simple.Try to find over 20 years old book on brush plating by Marv Rubinstein.Expired patents can be good(and free) source of infos too(www.uspto.gov)Hope it helps and good luck!
