How to mask car emblems for brush plating

I've been using electrical tape and plumber's putty to mask items and they work fairly well. But I'm sure there is a maskant that's specifically designed for this. What do most use?

Steven,
Most platers use a stop off lacquer. These can be brushed on and would be a quicker method than taping or using plumbers putty. I have also known brush platers to use nail polish then nail polish remover. Selective brush plating suppliers have good products that are more pleasant to work with than nail polish however.

See I have heard of this but never can seem to find the product. Can you list a link or some products perhaps?
