Salt spray failure in weld area of nickel-chrome plated parts
Hello to all, my problem is that we are facing slat spray failure in nickel and chrome at welding points and their is cavity in the welding of of the rods which make the salt spray solution to pass through it , respected sir what we see after salt spray is that the corrosion starts from this cavity and flows down the part which looks like rusting ,
if we plate same identical component and place it upwards down then the flow is in the other direction , sir my question is this failure of plating or is this improper wielding which cause this problem

If your welds are full of holes and slag, they will never pass salt spray, no matter how well the plating is done.
You need good quality welds and then you need to clean them up by blasting or abrasive polishing.

If I read your post correctly, what is happening is no shock. Your nickel is probably quite thin and is not capable of throwing into recesses, particularly if they contain rinse water or trapped air.
The chrome will be very thin and does not have a good capability of plating in low current density areas.
Solution is to weld better or grind the weld.
