Acid zinc plating of ASTM A401 high-carbon chrome silicon steel

Q. Can ASTM A401 high carbon chrome silicon steel be electroplated with zinc?
Our bath is a acid chloride zinc.
Will we have any adhesion or blistering issues?

A. Sir

Normally you can not cover Chrome or Nickel even when they are high carbon with Zinc.

What you probably do is to contaminate your solution so I will suggest not to do it or contact your local supplier so he may have alternatives to allow you to do this process.
