Color consistency standards for clear anodizing?

We are providing quite a lot of clear anodized (both 0.0004 and 0.0007) using recycled 6063 aluminum to meet LEED building projects. However, I've been unable to find any clear guidelines on color consistency that might exist. Is anyone aware of guidelines or standards?

Hi Bob,

After double checking MIL-A-8625, the only guidance I've found is negative - in section 3.5 it is made clear that any natural color resulting from the anodizing process or sealing is acceptable. To get a more uniform color it may be necessary to go with a class 2 and dye the parts - this way you would offset (somewhat) the difference in alloys.

Good luck!
