Hi, Sreekanth. I don't quite understand what you mean. Can you supply a picture of glass etched that way and describe the process you employed to achieve it? Then we may both understand what you are seeking and how your process could be altered to accommodate stainless steel in place of glass.

A. I see no reason that you can not etch SS with your current mats and cabinet. You probably will need to go to a harder grit such as white aluminum oxide or one of the carbides like silicon carbide. You will need to do some testing to find out what grit size will work best for you. Also, the grit will break down in size very rapidly when compared to working on glass.

Hi Sreekanth. Apologies, but that's so vague that I can't understand the question.
You melt glass by heating it, either with a torch or, better, in an oven. It's called "fusing". If you want smooth glass like a window, you need to roll it or use the float glass process. You have to cool it very slowly for proper annealing. I'm sure that's not the answer you actually seek, but that's all I can understand from your question. Sorry.
