Anodizing of aircraft wheel hubs
I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE PROCESS OF ANODIZING A/C WHEEL HUB MATING SURFACE.B'COS WE HAVE BEEN FACING PROBLEMS WITH THE MATING FACE PAINTING AND AFTER EVERY TYRE CHANGE THE PAINTS CHIP OFF AND BACK TO BARE METAL AND WE HAVE BEEN ANODIZING IT WITH ALODINE 1200L BY BRUSHING IT OVER THE MATING FACE,WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST PROCESS AND ALODINE TO USE HERE?

Hi, Jason. Anodizing is a completely different process than Alodining (chromate conversion coating). Further, there is a lot more to chromate conversion coating than just brushing the solution on -- pretreatment is required. I think you will find that if the aluminum is properly chromate conversion coated, the paint will not chip as readily. Good luck.
