Manganese Phosphating isn't heavy enough

April 11, 2009

Dear sir,

Related to manganese phosphating is my question. can you please guide us with a proper process of Manganese phosphating ,where we require a coating thickness of 0.005 -0.006 mm at Bore (diametrically) and other dimensions. Present process gives us a thickness of 0.020 mm max , for 15 mins, with Temp - 90 - 100 °C, 7% conc.

Whenever we try to rework the job ,the bore becomes over size. pl guide with correct process and concentration.

Your measurements do not agree with each other or I do not understand the question.
If you are not getting a thick enough coating, consult with the vendor or the OEM for the product. If you are using home brew, no one can help you as you are the only one that knows it's makeup and the checks that you do on it.
Time and temperature are only two factors in the control. 7% means nothing to most of us.
