Can I dye a light fixture in metal?

April 4, 2009

Hello,

I have two metal light fixtures that were given to me and I would like to dye them earth color? Is this possible? One fixture is a three feet track and is shiny metal. The other one is matte.

Thank you so much!

Hi, Elisabeth. It depends on what metal they are and what the current finish it. But, in general, it is difficult to dye metal, and painting it is usually the thing to do.
