I am looking for a sealant for clay pots

I am new at painting clay pots. I bought Patio Paint but it is very pricey. Looking for a sealant to seal flower pots that is water based, non-yellowing, clear coat, exterior use for outdoor flower pots and doesn't have strong vapors as I have very sensitive eyes. Also any ideas on cheaper paint for exterior use to be used on porous surface. Any help is greatly appreciated.
