Galvanizing alternative for structural steel staircase
April 3, 2009
I am looking for a good alternative to galvanizing for an outdoors structural steel staircase that will provide a black finish. The current specs call for galvanizing and painting. We are on a tight budget and looking a comparable finish in corrosion resistance and cost that will provide a black finish to avoid painting and maintenance.
The staircase parts would be quite large, the stair case is about 25' over all (2 story). The longest pieces would be the two 6" diameter pipe diagonal braces that are about 30' long. The rest of the stuff is shorter but larger width: stringers, treads, and grates for landings.
Any suggestions?
