MIL-C-5541 vs. MIL-STD-5541
March 31, 2009
Hello,
I need to call out a chromate conversion on a drawing. I see that MIL-C-5541 and MIL-STD-5541 both refer to chromate conversion. Which do I use in my drawing note?
Thank you.

Hi, Bob. I'm not sure there actually is a 'Mil-Std-5541' with just exactly that title, but I'd say MIL-DTL-5541
[on DLA] would be best for your drawing note.

On this web site:
www.assistdocs.com/search/search_basic.cfm?doc%5Fid=MIL&doc;%5Fnumber=5541&status;%5Fall=ON
Search mil-dtl-5541
under 'revision history' you will found your info if you open the file: Mil-dtl-5541 is superceding mil-c-5541
