Need to install anodize tank

Very new to me, but I am thinking of installing a small tank that would allow us to do our own anodizing to certain MIL specs. Does anyone know what the first step would be?
thanks,

Hi, Jeremy. A good first step would be to get access to a good anodizing book where you could familiarize yourself with what is involved overall. Anodizing is not a step, it is a process. Before the anodizing tank you need a caustic cleaner and probably an etch tank and a desmutter. After the anodizing tank you need dye tanks if applicable and a seal tank, with good rinsing between each step.

You should find either a trusted supplier of additives, dyes, and supporting chemistry to assist you or, better yet, retain an anodizing consultant. Good luck.

Hi Jeremy,

Another step you want to make sure to take prior to getting to far into the process is to get some expert local advice on what types of permits and environmentally required equipment you are going to need. Failure to do this can end up costing you WAY more money than you will ever save by doing your own anodizing.

Good luck!
