Hard chrome plating using chrome anodes

Can't I use chrome metal anode in hard chrome plating

Hi, Susheel. To the best of my knowledge nobody has ever been able to do that. It probably has to do with the fact that in a chrome plating bath, chromium is an anion rather than a cation:
H2CrO4 --> H+ + H+ + CrO 4-2

you know, when Chromium is polarized as anode. it is dissolved quicker than it is deposited at cathode. As the solution is condensed Chrome fast. Have many problem when chromium concentration changed
