Where can I get surface finish "texture code"?
March 24, 2009
I just hope I am in the correct website! I apologize if I am not.I am trying to reproduce a discontinued auto interior part for a small community, and everything is good except the surface is smooth instead of a fine grainy surface finish like the original part. My mold maker said they would need the texture code. I cannot find where to get texture code or samples. Does anyone know where I can get this information?
Thank you!

There are many different textures used to decorate or impart functional properties to plastic automotive parts. What you are looking for is known as chemical etching or texturing. If you mentioned what year and make of car it is, maybe someone will give you the straight answer you need.
