Electroless Nickel is too smooth for my needs, I need a rougher finish

Manufacturing a locking system.

Currently we are using electroless nickel for our product and while the finish is excellent we find that it cannot grip good enough when we clamp it down to brass and copper fittings.

I think if we had a finish with a bit more texture a big part of our problem could be solved.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks
Gary

You can ask your EN supplier to supply a matte chemistry. Also, consider some kind of roughening or texturing prior to plating your parts.
