Important variables for ultrasonic cleaning bath?
February 20, 2009
Hello
How can we monitoring an ultrasonic bath? which are the most important variables to monitoring to achieve the best cleaning

WOW! That is a loaded question. First of all, all ultrasonic systems are not created equally. Meaning, there are different systems for different purposes and they operate on different frequencies. In addition to that is the coverage of the energy within the container. In addition to that is the configuration of the parts you want to clean and the holding or mounting of the parts. Then all chemicals/liquids do not behave the same. Other than that I don't see a problem in suggesting what to monitor.

Hi, your right that's a loaded question...
Last week we did some test, using the aluminum foil test, and we found that the ultrasonic bath works better at low temperatures, I mean 20's Celsius rather than 60's, we used brulin for chemical cleaning... do you think that this result is right?

About the only thing I can tell you about temperature is that the closed you get to 100C or 212F the less effective ultrasonic will become. The density or spec.gravity of the liquid is more important and is effected by the chemical. What you experienced maybe true of water only.

Keep all parameters (temperature , concentration of chemical tanks, pH of rinsing tanks) within specified limit is the only way to trouble free running of ultrasonic m/c
