Concrete painted driveway needs a do over

Bought a house 2 years ago. The large concrete driveway had been painted a light brownish-yellow color. Do to heavy traffic (contractor trucks), snow and ice the paint has disappeared in multiple area revealing smooth black under surface. I would like to tackle the repainting myself if possible.
Questions:
1)Should I rent a sandblaster and sandblast the driveway or is there an easier way to prep the driveway?
2)If possible, can some type of sand be added to what ever driveway colored paint is re-applied to enhance traction in the winter when we have snow and ice?
3)What are the proper steps I should follow from start to finish to ensure I have as long lasting driveway repaint job as possible?
