Help in Ultrasonic Cleaning
February 13, 2009
Howdy
Being a new owner of an Ultrasonic company here in Florida, I am starting to ultrasonically clean marine heat exchangers made from Brass and copper. Caustic soda is being used by some people in their machines. Does any-one know or have any knowledge of ratios of caustic soda ⇦liquid caustic soda in bulk on

and water or the correct procedure. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hello Mark,
Today the trend is toward caustic and phosphate free ultrasonic cleaning solutions. Because the cleaning of these parts will be the bread and butter for your company, why not go with proprietary cleaners that are better for the environment and your workforce? When these cleaners are formulated, countless hours of research and testing go into the products. There are different cleaning solutions for varied metals, and they work very well. If you google ultrasonic cleaning of brass and copper you will find many suppliers. Good Luck!
