Blackening treatment of SS 316 / 304 for best solar absorption

Stainless steel is a inexpensive and high strength material for heat absorption in concentrated solar energy receiver. For good efficiency, the emissivity of surface should be highest possible - that is, it should be jet black. Typical operating temperature expected is up to 450 °C (840 F). What is economical process to obtain such a black surface on the SS 316 / 304 tubes ? Can it be as simple as heating in controlled atmosphere ?
