Electroplating Aluminium Oxide onto Nichrome Wire - help me please
Hi Everybody
I am working on a micro heating element that I am trying to copy from an existing manufacturer :) - I need to deposit Aluminium Oxide (to a thickness of 0.005 inches) on a round Nichrome Heating Element Wire that is 0.007 inches in diameter - Does anybody have any ideas how I can achieve this ? Current suggestions to me so far have been to deposit Aluminium onto the wire then Anodize to change it into Aluminium Oxide - the purpose of the coating is to provide an electrical insulating barrier - maybe there are other materials that would do the job - Any ideas anybody - Many thanks in advance - David

Aluminum electroplating using ionic liquids solutions (or other available technologies) followed by anodizing may be a good starting point.
