Steels specified for hot ferric chloride solutions
HI there, I am currently designing a digester and a concentrating pan for the manufacture of ferric chloride
⇦this on
eBay or
Amazon [affil links] solution using HCl and Pyrites cinder. What would be the best corrosion resistant stainless steel to specify for the:
1. Steam coil
2. The digester shell?
The temperatures go as far as 150 OC during digestion.

There is no stainless steel that will be resistant to ferric chloride ⇦this on eBay or Amazon [affil links] . If you want it to be metallic chances are you will not be able to afford it. Consider plastics.

Not many plastics will withstand 150 °C. You may need to consider either ceramics or glass
