Pre-bond cleaning of magnesium
I am looking for a pre-bond cleaning process for magnesium. I have a local repair which will require a pre-cleaning prior to cold bonding a doubler onto it.

Not 100% certain that your particular soils/oils will be soluble, but we use a product called Brulin 1990GD to clean magnesium castings in our spray washer. The immersion or ultrasonic version is Brulin 815GD. Both of these should be mild enough to prevent attack.
