How to plate copper on paint

My factory plate chrome on aluminum such as motorcycle part. I have got a part from Japanese customer. After I stripped chrome nickel and copper ,I found paint under copper layer .It was so surprise .This part made in Japan. I wonder that how was it plated copper on paint. I want to know the process to plate copper on paint.
I am in electroplating field for 35 years but I have never seen any product do plate copper on paint before. If anyone have process to do it .Please contact me as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Dear Non, it's not so surprising. There are also conductive paints or lacquers. Usually they consist of metallic powders or nano-particles of silver, copper, carbon and so on. Recently we can meet even conductive polymeric resins. All those substrates can be plated. They are often used for renovation old parts and maybe it was the reason of your discovery.

duPont has a silver conductive paint which is very popular with people metallizing non-conductors,.
