We plate copper on Zamak, what changes are needed to plate on iron

November 20, 2008

we are doing electroplating on Zamak our process cycle for making brass and tin is

chemical degreasing (containing Na meta silicate)
electrolytic degreasing (anodic and cathodic)
Acid dip (sulfuric acid)
copper (cyanide bath using copper and sodium cyanide)
neutralization (sulfuric acid dilute)
Acid tin OR
brass (cyanide bath)

now we want to electroplate the same on IRON and steel what changes in process we make to use the same copper bath for plating on iron?
