Clear coat for high polish brass?
November 5, 2008
I am an engraver in Wisconsin and I may have a project that will require me to produce 353 alloy leaded brass plates. These plates are polished to a #8 finish (mirror).
I will be photo etching an image on the plates and the image will be color filled. The plates are .063" thick.
Is there a clear coating that I can put on these plates without spending tons of money on a spraying system.
Are there waxes or clear chemical coatings that can be applied as a clear coat to protect the plates from tarnish.
Any suggestions or ideas would help me get on the right track.
Thanks ,
Rick
