Pencil Hardness failure issue on abs finish

I'm working in the plumbing industry and our suppliers are constantly having an issue of passing the pencil hardness criteria on the ABS finish. I'm wondering if some one can help us to guide what we need to do to resolve this issue with our suppliers.

Hi, Saadee. I'm not clear on what you are describing. Are these components painted or powder coated in some fashion, or are you saying that the raw ABS surface isn't hard enough?

Regards,
