Titanium and stainless anodizing process information
Dear Sirs,
I am a manufacturer of Orthopaedic Implants and surgical instruments made of S.S.316L and Ti-6AL-4V ELI. I am looking for Anodize process detail for color of (Blue, Green, and Red).
It will of great help to me if you can tell me the procedure for it.
Thank you.

Hi, Anjum. I believe that implants must comply with specific UL or other processing standards. Both titanium and stainless steel can be color anodized. The coatings are diffraction coatings rather than chemical coloring. The thickness, and consequently the color, are proportional to the applied voltage. If you are patient with the search engine you will find those color charts and many other pieces of helpful information on this site. But the successful applicators of implant and instrument coatings hold many of the details of their successful applications as trade secrets. Good luck.
