Zinc plating finish that looks tarnished

I am a plant supervisor and in charge of purchasing. Sometimes when I get our zinc die casted parts in from having them zinc plated they have a tarnished look to them. Can you tell me what may be causing this? Is it the quality of the die casting or the quality of the zinc plate?

You do not define what a tarnish look is like. You also do not describe what your zinc plating specification is. Without this information it is impossible to take a guess at the problem/result. A photo would also be helpful.
