Protective Clear Coat for White Gold Ring?
I have a hammered style 18k white gold wedding band that begins to turn yellow after only a few months. I'm currently paying $40 2-3 times a year so that I can have the whiteness of the band maintained.
Is there any type of 'clear coat' that could be applied that would prevent the rhodium from wearing off so quickly?

Hi, Bill. Anything can be clearcoated, but I doubt that it will substantially help against wear. I think you should look for a jewelry store that can apply a heavier and higher quality rhodium layer. Two to three replatings per year is way overboard. Please see our FAQ: Rhodium Plating and White Gold.
