Can we comply with ROHS without doing trivalent plating

I have read one article that we can do hexavalent plating and dip it in chemical solvent and all hexavalent chromium can be converted to trivalent chrome and it passes ROHS requirement also. Please confirm if there is any process like this.

What is it that you are going to dip into this miracle solvent? Are you plating chromium? If so what is the deposit? Is it hexavalent chromium or something else? Get that facts for what you are doing and read the specification so you can make an informed decision.

What we are getting from the supplier is trivalent black, iridescent and blue bright components. I came to know from the article, that instead of doing trivalent passivation it is possible to do hexavalent passivation and dip it in a chemical solvent that will convert 6 valency to 3 valency, ie, hexavalent to trivalent. I hope it clarifies your doubt. Now, I am in need of a chemical supplier who is offering that solvent and anybody who is already doing this type of process.

Hi, Dhanasekaran. I understand what you are saying, but I have never heard of this reducing agent that you read about, and I do not know of a supplier for it, nor of anybody who is doing it. So, can you give us the particulars of the article you read so that we can read it and see what we think of it?

Dear sir,

What is the difference between molten salt process & galvanic deposition process for manufacturing platinized titanium anode?
