Dear Mr. Can,

If you need to strip nickel from brass, then I recommend to use Golpanol MBS (sodium nitrobenzene sulfonate) from BASF company.

As far as I remember it right now you need 100 g of Golpanol MBS and 180 g of concentrated sulfuric acid for 1 litre of ready-for-use stripping solution.

Temperature: about 60-65°C

1. Soak until all the nickel has been dissolved and a black film will cover the stripped parts.
2. Water rinse thoroughly.
3. Soak the parts in a 3-5 % sodium cyanide solution in room temperature until the black film has been removed.
4. Water rinse and dry up.
5. Slightly re-polish.

But you can also ask BASF for help, they offer standard formulations.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help, folks. To the extent practical, let's keep the discussion non-proprietary. I'm sure that you can appreciate that the site's supporting advertisers might be reluctant to fund a forum where we spend their money posting recommendations to use their competitors' products :-)
