Zinc plating of scaffolding components

September 3, 2008

Dear Sir,

We are doing stoving paint ( preheat treatment with five tanks filled with HCl sol, water, Phosphatizing solution, water, Chrome based passivation respectively and then after dipping in paint tank we put the material in the oven and keep in for 45 minutes at 175 degree C) to our scaffolding pipes ( carbon steel pipes and malleable cast iron top cups). Size: 1.5 mtr, 2 mtr, 3 mtr

Results are not the same which we have desired so we would like to convert our plant into zinc plating plant. May we request you to help us that which kind of zinc plating required for our carbon steel pipes so that we get the life of products increased.

I think you should go for cyanide or alkaline type of zinc plating the later being more difficult to operate but environmentally friendly. One of our companies largest clients are doing phosphating and then paint on scaffoldings but zinc plating will increase the life to a great extent.

Hi,

Most of the plating industry do zinc plating, mostly the acid zinc on scaffholdings in middle east, its a big market there, the cleaning of components is very important.there are some customers who do , phosphating then paint blue paint on it.
