Cloudy acid tin plating

September 1, 2008

I have an acid tin plating bath plating on brass and zinc alloys, after copper plating put material in tin bath for 10 min at more then 8 volts, and the result is hazy and cloudy not full shiny like nickel, kindly if somebody knows any tricks then I will be very thankful.

I think you reduce voltage to 4 or 5 volts,,

also check the tin metal contents not exceeding 30 g/l. good filtration also required for bright finish.

and the brightener additions must regular.
