Polishing painted aluminum

I have some aluminum parts that are currently painted(flat black). I would like to polish them to a mirror shine. Is there a paint stripper I should use first? Should I simply try to polish off the paint? I don't know where to start. Any ideas?

Hi, Matt. Start with Aircraft Stripper, then read some of the many letters on line here about polishing aluminum, beginning with letter 800. Good luck.
