Non-plated light reflective surface

A piece of equipment I'm making needs a light reflector (think floodlight cone or flashlight reflector). Ideally I would machine the cone to a very smooth surface, possibly coat with a passivator, and have as reflective a surface as I can get without plating.

Any recommendations for such a cheap-and-dirty reflective surface? For example, would aluminum be a good choice of material?

Hi, Hillary. Yes. You can polish the aluminum and clearcoat it.
