Different approaches to Black "Plating" Aluminum

I am manufacturing frames for machines used in our facility using Aluminum 6061 Ground jig plate. I would like a black finish, but not painting because I do not want to significantly change the finished dimensions of the frames. I am looking for some suggestions, specs, etc. and local suppliers of this type of service. I think powder coating would be too thick.

Is a dimensional change of 0.0005" per surface acceptable? If so you could consider sulfuric acid anodising and black dye to MIL-A-8625.
