Preserving cement statue of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs

Q. I have inherited a set of life size cement Snow White and the 7 dwarfs from my parents that are 25 years old or so. One of the dwarfs is cracking and crumbling. all the others are still perfect (in need of a new paint job but that's beside the point). I have spent countless hours on the web searching for a way to seal or repair poor "Doc" to no avail. And it seems no one produces these guys anymore so this is my last ditch effort. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to stop the cracking and crumbling, most of the cement that has actually broken off is on his base, so purchased a bunch of that mighty putty epoxy stuff hoping it will alow me to rebuild the base, but I still need to stop the deterioration on the rest of him. he is painted, but I do not think he was ever sealed.>

Thank you for any help you can provide. Snow White and the six dwarfs just doesn't have the same ring!

A. Do an alginate mold of your crumbling dwarf. Recast him.

A. We also have a set we inherited but I repaired them fully 10 years ago using rockite. Some of them are in need of repair again on the bottom but they have held up very well. I have done many yard ornament repairs in the past and am a mason. Rockite is hard and hardens fast so not much time for molding but they can be repaired. When I repainted them I used a marine base water proofer and the paint jobs are almost as new as they were when I repainted them. One thing that is very important in preserving them is keeping them out of the freezing winters. Ours were kept on a porch so as to not be subjected to the weather too much.
