Shower enclosure restoration options

We have a shower constructed of wood walls and a concrete base that were both covered with a composite material marketed as a seamless flooring product. It stood up well for 20+ years but now needs replacement or overcoating. We are thinking of an epoxy paint or seamless deck coating and are open to applying a laminate product. Any suggestions or cautions would be most appreciated.

If you can detect a problem on the surface of the unit now, you can bet a Starbucks on the fact that the substrate is damaged and probably molded. Consider ripping the whole thing out and going to a fiberglass enclosure. I think that it will be cheaper in the long run.
