July 27, 2008
Dear sir,
May I know the maximum temperature up to which a nickel plated component or an article can withstand?
Thank you for your time.

Hi, Kathikeyan. Abstract questions are exceptionally difficult to answer, always requiring nearly endless ifs, ands, and buts. As one quick example, any bright nickel with organic brighteners will give problems at a much lower temperature than a pure nickel deposit. For that reason it takes whole books to answer open-ended situations, and you may wish to consult our list of recommended plating books. For public forum questions, please forthrightly post the details of the application that you have in mind and then people may be able to help you. Thanks.

First of two simultaneous responses --
I will take Ted's comment one step further. MAXIMUM--for what? softening? melting? alloying with the substrate? OR? OR?

Second of two simultaneous responses --
It all depends on your substrate.
