Heat limitation for Koroseal lining ?
Q. I have a carbon bed tank for my water process system. The tank has a Koroseal lining 1/8" thick. My carbon bed is filled with bacteria and I want to steam or fill the tank with hot water for a period of time to kill the organics in the tank. I have been informed that I cannot steam or use hot water as this will deform the lining and allow it to detach from the tank walls. Will hot water actually do this? What if the water temperature is kept at 160 degrees is this still too hot?
thank you for your feedback and help!

A. Hi, Ezekial. You must get a data sheet from B.F. Goodrich as this is a proprietary product. Common application is to not use Koroseal for greater than 140 to 150 ° application, and I think you will find that Goodrich will not guarantee it above 140 °.
